Here in the country of impotents, people amuse themselves however they can. In the wake of the war in Iraq, statisfaction in France following the attacks in Riyadh is barely concealed and the low wage earners those who have no ambition are out on the streets blackmailing. The powerless French bumbling blubbering minions feel that their time has come. In this cartoon by Plantu, the ghost of Alain Juppé (Prime Minister who ejected after the strikes in '95, and no he isn't dead ... yet) reminds Raffarin of what he said a few days ago 'The street does not govern this country'. The newspapers on the desk compare the Riyadh attacks to the strikes currently blocking France. Note the typically French fatalistic surrender mindset. Strikers are in the streets, give them what they want! Terrorists are setting off bombs, give them what they want! In any case, Plantu is right to put the strikers and the terrorists in the same boat.

En France la satisfaction suite à l'attentat de Riyad, dans le contexte de la fin de la guerre en Irak, est à peine dissimulée et les gagne-petits ceux qui manquent d'ambition sont dans la rue à jouer au chantage. Les larbins impuissants qui bafouillent en avançant clopin-clopant sont convaincues que leur heure de gloire est arrivée. Dans ce dessin de Plantu, le spectre de Juppé (Premier Ministre qui a giclé suite aux grèves de '95 et non il n'est pas mort, pas encore) rappelle à Raf-fera-rien ses mots d'il y a quelques jours 'Ce n'est pas la rue qui gouverne'. Les journaux sur le bureau mettent en parallèle l'attentat de Riyad et les grèves en France. Notez bien l'orientation capitularde et fataliste bien française. Des grévistes sont dans la rue, donnez-leur tout ce qu'ils demandent! Des terroristes font péter des bombes, donnez-leur tout ce qu'ils demandent! En tout cas, Plantu a raison de mettre les grévistes et les terroristes dans le même sac.
